La ansiedad

La ansiedad (del latín anxietas, angustia, aflicción) es un estado que se caracteriza por un incremento de las facultades perceptivas ante la necesidad fisiológica del organismo de incrementar el nivel de algún elemento que en esos momentos se encuentra por debajo del nivel adecuado, o, por el contrario, ante el temor de perder un bien preciado.
La ansiedad no siempre es patológica o mala: es una emoción común, junto con el miedo, la ira, tristeza o felicidad, y tiene una función muy importante relacionada con la supervivencia.
En la actualidad se estima que un 20.6% o más de la población mundial sufre de algún trastorno de ansiedad, sin saberlo.

Premio Pullitzer 1969

Ejecución en Saigón es una foto tomada por Eddie Adams, fotógrafo muy famoso que llegó a cubrir 13 guerras; mientras cubría la guerra de Vietnam para la Associated Press tomó esta famosísima foto donde aparece el jefe de policía Nguyen Ngoc Loan ejecutando a quemarropa a Nguyen Van Lem un guerrillero del Vietcong, en las calles de Saigón.

La foto ganó el premio Pullitzer en 1969 corrió el mundo mostrando la crudeza de la guerra, pero Adams después se arrepintió de tomar la foto y de la notoriedad mundial que cobró, inclusive disculpándose con Nguyen Ngoc Loan y describiéndolo como un héroe.

Famous photograph of Simonon smashing his Fender Precision Bass against the stage at The Palladium in New York City on September 21, 1979 during the “Clash Take the Fifth” US tour. Pennie Smith, who photographed the band for the album, originally did not want the photograph to be used. She thought that it was too out of focus, but Strummer and graphic designer Ray Lowry thought it would make a good album cover. In 2002, Smith’s photograph was named the best rock and roll photograph of all time by Q magazine, commenting that “it captures the ultimate rock’n'roll moment - total loss of control”.The picture featured London Calling, the third album by English rock band The Clash, released December 14, 1979 on CBS Records in the UK and in January 1980 on Epic Records in the United States

After capturing and executing Che in 1967, before bury him in a secret tomb, the executioners made a group photo with the body, to demonstrate the people that EL GRAN CHE is dead. The picture actually made him a legend, his admirers said he had a forgiving look on his face and compared him with Jesus.

Muhammad Ali vs Sonny Liston 1965

This picture is one of the most famous moments in sporting history! It shows knocking out Sonny Liston (former heavy weight champion) in the first minute of the first round, in a rematch (Muhammad won the match the year before after Sonny resigned to defeat complaining of a shoulder injury).
Speculations circulated about Liston’s fall, many spectators considered the bout fixed, even the FBI investigated the case. Some say while preparing for the fight, Liston was visited by Black Muslims who threatened to kill his daughter Eleanor if he should win the rematch, others say Liston lay down for money.

Fire on marlborough street 1975 !!

On July 22, 1975, photograph Stanley J. Forman working for the Boston Herald American newspaper when a police scanner picked up an emergency: “Fire on Marlborough Street!”Climbed on a the fire truck, Forman shot the picture of a young woman, Diana Bryant, and a very young girl, Tiare Jones when they fell helplessly. Diana Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene. The young girl lived. Despite a heroic effort, the fireman who tried to grab them had been just seconds away from saving the lives of both.
Photo coverage from the tragic event garnered Stanley Forman a Pulitzer Prize. But more important, his work paved the way for Boston and other states to mandate tougher fire safety codes.
